Bakhtiari rugs are woven by the tribal and village people of the Chahar Mahal region in west-central Iran, and they are best known for their "garden" or compartment designs: a grid of panels, each filled with flowers, trees, cypresses and sometimes animals, like a formal Persian garden seen from above.
Woven in sturdy wool with warm, saturated reds, blues, golds and greens, Bakhtiaris bring real character and are a favourite for warm, traditional and eclectic interiors.
