Kerman Lavar / Ravar Rugs

Lavar Kerman rugs — also spelled Ravar — are the finest grade of Kerman weaving, named after the Ravar district north of Kerman city. "Lavar" and "Ravar" are simply two transliterations of the same place; they are not two different rugs. (Not to be confused with any similarly-sounding names.)

These are among the most refined decorative Persian carpets ever made, prized for delicate, precise drawing, superb wool and beautifully harmonised colour.
