Eliko Rug Gallery has spent more than forty years buying, studying and selling hand-knotted rugs. Our New York collection runs to over ten thousand antique, vintage and modern pieces, drawn from every major weaving tradition — the formal city rugs of Persia, the soft decorative Turkish Oushaks, the bold geometry of the Caucasus, the plush wool of Morocco, and the grand carpets of India and Europe.
You can browse two ways. Shop by region if you already know the look or origin you want, or shop by type, era and style if you are working to a brief — antique, vintage or modern, a flatweave, a runner or an oversized carpet. If you would rather we did the searching, tell us about the room or project and we will build you a shortlist.
Eliko Rug Gallery is a family-run business with more than forty years of experience. Founded and still led by the family, alongside specialists who have spent their careers in antique and vintage rugs, we hold one of the largest and most diverse inventories anywhere — over ten thousand antique, vintage and modern pieces. Every rug is hand-selected and checked before it is offered, so what you see is described plainly: origin, age, condition and quality.
See rugs in person at our Madison Avenue showroom by appointment, in person or over video. Interior designers and trade clients are always welcome. If you are not in New York, we deliver nationwide and internationally, and can send pieces on approval for a project.

The simplest way to narrow the field is by age. Antique rugs are over a hundred years old, with the patina and provenance collectors value most. Vintage rugs are roughly thirty to a hundred years old, and give a similar character at a friendlier price, often in larger sizes. Modern and contemporary rugs, including our made-to-order custom pieces, are best when you need an exact size or a specific palette. There is no single "best" — it depends on the look, budget and durability your space needs.
